The Republic Day Parade is a grand celebration that fills the hearts of Indians with pride and joy. Every year on January 26, families gather around their television sets or head to the streets to witness this spectacular event.

The Republic Day Parade 2025 is set to be an extraordinary event, beginning at 10:00 AM IST with the Prime Minister paying homage at the National War Memorial. The main parade will kick off at 10:30 AM on Kartavya Path, New Delhi, and is expected to last around three hours. This year’s parade will showcase India’s military prowess, cultural diversity, and technological advancements, making it a must-watch for families.

As the colorful floats, marching bands, and brave soldiers parade through the heart of New Delhi, it’s not just a show of military might but a display of our rich cultural heritage. For parents, this day is an excellent opportunity to engage their children in conversations about what it means to be an Indian citizen and the values that our nation stands for.

Special Guests and Participation

This year, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest at the parade. His presence adds an international flavor to the event, teaching children about global friendships and diplomacy. Additionally, around 2,000 winners from various online competitions organized by MyGov will be invited to witness this grand spectacle, emphasizing community involvement.

A Colorful Display of Culture

One of the most captivating aspects of the parade is the 31 tableaux that will represent various states and union territories. Each tableau will highlight unique cultural elements, traditions, and achievements under the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress). Children will get to see vibrant floats adorned with flowers, artwork, and performers dressed in traditional attire, showcasing the rich tapestry of Indian culture.

Special Highlights

  • 75 Years of the Constitution: Two special tableaux will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. Kids will witness the release of balloons featuring the official logo marking this significant milestone, adding a festive touch to the proceedings.
  • Cultural Performances: The parade will kick off with a performance by 300 cultural artists playing Indigenous musical instruments and singing “Sare Jahan Se Achha.” This lively opening is sure to engage children with its rhythm and melody.

Military Might on Display

The Republic Day Parade is also a showcase of India's military strength. Kids will see impressive marching contingents from various branches of the armed forces, including:

  • A 160-member marching contingent from India’s armed forces.
  • The 190-member band from Indonesia highlighting international friendship and cooperation.
  • The debut of advanced military technology, like the Pralay missile, symbolizes India's advancements in defense capabilities.

Ceremonial March Past

The ceremonial march past is a highlight where children can observe disciplined formations and hear the sound of marching boots. This display not only showcases military precision but also instills values like discipline and teamwork.

Aerial Spectacle

The parade culminates with a thrilling flypast involving 47 aircraft from the Indian Air Force. Children will be amazed by the sight of jets soaring through the sky, performing intricate maneuvers that demonstrate aerial prowess. This part of the event often leaves spectators in awe, making it a memorable experience for young viewers.
