Kids often suffer from pain in their front portion of thighs, knees or calves. It is called growing pains as per the specific terminology and is quite recurrent in kids. This happens mostly in the evening or at the time of sleeping. Sometimes, it occurs in the middle of the night causing your child waking up. Some believe it happens after a tiring day full of sports and activities as kids are always on the move, while some believe weak bones or muscle groups is the reason. Here are some best remedies to help your kid out from the pain:
1. Massage: Rub that portion with a light hand where your kid feels the pain. Using mustard oil is highly recommended.
2. Heat pad: Use a heated bed below and above the affected portion of the leg. Keep pressing it lightly. If using a hot water bag, don't keep the water too hot.
3. Stretching: Help your child in stretching the leg muscles. It helps a lot in minimising the pain.
4. Pain relievers: With the consultation of a child specialist, you can give your kid some pain killers too that help immediately in mitigating the pain and ultimately eliminating it.
5. Citrus fruits: In the morning diet of your kid, make the inclusion of citrus fruits like oranges or before playtime. These fruits contain Vitamin C that resists the muscle soreness.
