With old age, the immune system of the body gets weak. So, the body becomes vulnerable to various chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc. That's why it becomes of paramount importance to maintain a healthy diet so that the body fulfils all the nutritional requirements. 1. Drink plenty of water every day. In summer, the body dehydrates very quickly so it becomes excessively important to increase your water intake quantity. Moreover, it keeps the blood flow smoothly by making blood thin.
2. Plenty of colourful vegetables, cereals, legumes, pulses, poultry, lean meats, fish and eggs should be included in their daily diet.
3. Drinking alcohol should be strictly avoided as it harms the liver. A weak liver can invite various diseases.
4. Don't add too much salt in your diet. It can cause high blood pressure.
5. Foods like pastries, biscuits, potato chips, burgers, etc. should not be consumed very often as they contain a high amount of saturated fat.
6. Limit the intake of added sugar foods or drinks like sweets, fruit drinks, soft drinks. Such things can disrupt the blood-sugar level.
